When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, the apostles were all in one place together. Our dearest mother Mary, we pray for an infilling of the Holy spirit. And sudenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit of Pentecost continues in our time. We receive an invitation to participate in the Father's love for the Son and the Son's love for the Father. We are asked to respond to this invitation that has been given to us through our baptism. In return, we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit that give life to the love of God within us so that we may live God's love in word and deed. God's Kingdom comes to empower the hearts of those who choose to believe in Jesus and His victory over sin and death. Amen.
